Questions:
(1) We've discussed causes and effects this year. Can you list at least 3 causes and effects so far in the story?

For example, Gil's father was accused of embezzlement by the current owner of Golly Toy & Game Company. The effect of this incident is the nonstop media attention Gil is receiving for his current position in the Golly competition.

(2) If you were Mr. Bert Golliwop, would you want Gil participating in your competition? Why or why not? Use supporting details from the text.

  6. One cause is Rocky and Thorn are cheating. The effect is that the competion is unfair.

    Another cause from the story is Gil had no food in the waiting line. The effect was that Gil was staving until his dad came.

  7. One more cause is that Everyone thinks Gils dad is a crook. The effect is that he is getting bullied a lot.

    I would not trust Gil enough to participate because of the incident with his dad.

  8. Gil's father got was going to get arrested so they had to go to court.
    Gil got the ticket with his number. Then, he got in the Golly Whopper Games!!!!!!
    If I was him I wouldn't let Gil in because his father almost got arrested.

    Gil's dad might have stole money.People were giving him a hard time.
    Gil entered the Golly games.Gil meet new people.
    Gil made it to the top 10.So he has good changes of winning.
